Wilderness Friendly Climate Society..

Tonight I went to the headquarters of World Expeditions in the Sydney CBD and heard Virginia Young (one of Australia's leading climate campaigners) from the Wilderness Society, and Freddy Sharpe (the CEO of Climate Friendly) address a rather large group of climate conscious travellers from all walks of life. Freddy made it really straight forward to understand carbon credits and carbon offsetting programs, and their various projects. Virginia was fantastic at explaining the in-depth science behind the Carbon Emissions Discussion, the Emissions Trading Scheme and so many other things that had seemed so complicated in the press. I came away feeling like the mystery had been taken out of the science and it was so clear how simple it would be to reduce our country's carbon emissions by actually saving our natural forests - our carbon banks - instead of clearing them for plantations. It was revealed that Australia already has an excess of wood from our plantations. From that evening, I made a commitment to make moves to have my entire business offset with Climate Friendly, and to offset every photo shoot from hereon in. I'm inspired by how I can make a difference and support my clients to make a difference too. Below: Freddy Sharpe
